Deirdre holds an MA in Educational Psychology from University College Dublin, and a B.Sc in Psychology from the Open University. Prior to her training as an Educational Psychologist, she taught in mainstream and special schools in the UK, Ireland and New Zealand, teaching first and second level students with learning difficulties, and also as a Learning Support and Resource Teacher. While in New Zealand, she worked as a Special Education Advisor, for the Ministry of Education. Her role was to support children and adolescents presenting with a special educational need in their educational setting, for example, mainstream, special school, and home-school or alternative education provision. She also has experience of working with children and adolescents presenting with challenging behaviours.She is committed to providing a professional service, offering comprehensive psycho-educational assessments to primary and post-primary students. These assessments offer a detailed profile of the student’s learning strengths and areas of need, informing how best to further support the student across both the home and school settings.
